Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

As you may know the Thanksgiving tradition started in 1621 in Plymouth, Massachusetts when the Pilgrims and Indians shared a feast after a good harvest.

The Thanksgiving holiday is now a special time when we give thanks for our families, our health and for having life’s basic necessities. We also remember the story of the early Pilgrims and Indians who for a short time established bonds of friendship, and we think of the importance of making friends with people that we have little in common with.

It is also appropriate at this time to learn more about the Native peoples of America, their suffering, and how they contributed to the country we have today.
