RCPP Projects Funded in FY 2014/2015

1.    Productive Farms and Clean Streams for Berks and Chester Counties

  • Funding Pool: State
  • Lead State: Pennsylvania
  • NRCS Funds: $1.5 Million (RCPP EQIP)
  • Area: Berks and Chester counties in PA (click here for a map of the project areas)
  • Project Lead Partner: Stroud Water Research Center
  • Purpose: Increase conservation in Berks and Chester Counties through conservation planning and conservation practice implementation with an emphasis on riparian forested buffers.
  • Project Period: June 15, 2015 to June 14, 2020
  • Producer Applications: Currently being accepted (click here for application information)

2.    Delaware River Watershed Working Lands Conservation and Protection Partnership

  • Funding Pool: National
  • Lead State: Pennsylvania
  • NRCS Funds: $13 Million (RCPP EQIP; RCPP WRE))
  • Area: Delaware River Watershed in PA, NJ, and NY
      ► Pennsylvania RCPP EQIP
      ► Pennsylvania RCPP ACEP-WRE 
  • Project Lead Partner: National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF)
  • Purpose: Provide conservation on working lands in the priority Delaware River Watershed “Clusters” identified by the William Penn Foundation and their partners to develop conservation plans, implement conservation practices, and conserve and protect wetlands.
  • Project Period: June 15, 2015 to June 14, 2020

3.    Comprehensive Watershed Conservation in Dairy and Livestock Landscapes of the
       Chesapeake Bay

  • Funding Pool: Chesapeake Bay CCA
  • Lead State: Pennsylvania
  • NRCS Funds: $7 Million (RCPP EQIP)
  • Area: Chesapeake Bay Watershed in PA (Bradford, Juniata, and Lancaster counties), MD, and VA (click above for a map of the respective project areas in Pennsylvania)
  • Project Lead Partner: National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF)
  • Purpose: Increase conservation planning and conservation practice implementation on dairy operations in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. In Pennsylvania the project includes Bradford, Juniata, and Lancaster counties.
  • Project Period: June 15, 2015 to June 14, 2020

4.    Mason-Dixon Working Lands Partnership

  • Funding Pool: Chesapeake Bay CCA
  • Lead State: Maryland
  • NRCS Funds: $1.5 Million (RCPP EQIP)
  • Area: Chesapeake Bay in MD and PA (Franklin and York counties) (click here for a map of the project areas in Pennsylvania)
  • Project Lead Partner: Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay
  • Purpose: Increase conservation planning and conservation practice implementation with emphasis on Riparian Forested Buffers, Nutrient Management, Waste Storage, Cover Crops, and Forest Practices. In Pennsylvania the project area includes Franklin and York Counties.
  • Project Period: June 15, 2015 to June 14, 2020

5.    Cerulean Warbler Appalachian Forestland Enhancement

  • Funding Pool: National
  • Lead State: West Virginia
  • NRCS Funds: $ 8 Million (RCPP EQIP)
  • Area: Cerulean Warbler habitat in WV, KY, MD, PA and OH (click here for a map of the project areas in Pennsylvania)
  • Project Lead Partner: American Bird Conservancy
  • Purpose: Increase habitat for the Cerulean Warbler and reforestation of abandoned mine lands. In Pennsylvania the project area includes numerous counties within the Cerulean Warbler habitat area.
  • Project Period: June 15, 2015 to June 14, 2020
