Project Description

This project will improve the long-term capacity of forestlands to sustain ecosystem functions including watershed health, soil health, wildlife habitat and forage by mitigating the impact and slowing the spread of Sudden Oak Death. The overall goal is to slow and eventually eradicate the EU1 strain of Sudden Oak Death.

Screening Questions

  1. If the applicant has had a contract terminated due to non-compliance within the last five years, has an existing contract out of compliance; this application is LOW priority.
  2. Sites that have SOD or the buffer around infected trees crosses into the property or that include planting after SOD treatments - High priority
  3. Sites that have high fuel load due to stand degradation caused by SOD infection within the GIA - High Priority
  4. Sites that would just like to reduce high fuel load outside the GIA - Medium Priority
  5. Site does not have any SOD on or near the property or if projects in the GIA are not treating 100% of affected area - Low

Ranking Questions

1. Sites that are outside the GIA and has or have had the EU2 or NA2 strain or the buffer around infected trees crosses into the property.
2. Sites that are outside the GIA and has or have had the NA1 strain or the buffer around infected trees crosses into the property.
3. Sites that are treating NA1 within the GIA.
4. Sites that reduce fuel loads within the GIA.
