Jessica Yates - Increased Awareness of NRCS Conservation Activities

Albuquerque, N.M. – Jessica organized and coordinated a field event involving non-federal participants and students. The field event introduced participants to NRCS rangeland inventory and conservation planning. She increased awareness of NRCS conservation activities to students and other potential employees and volunteers.

Jessica provided leadership on this activity which exceeded normal expectations of a GS-7 employee. She organized the event and invited 4H students to participate in range inventory and planning efforts to gain knowledge of activities relating to Range Management with NRCS.

As a result of her efforts, one Earth Team volunteer was recruited to assist Team 7. In addition, students were exposed to real life accounts of range planning activities and potential employment opportunities for a career in agriculture.
