State Soil Scientist: Supervisor or Manager (GS 13)



Job Description

This person provides leadership for developing, managing, and directing a comprehensive and integrated technical soil services program for the state; and serves as a state liaison with National Cooperative Soil Survey (NCSS) cooperators.

Job Duties

  • Provides leadership for developing, managing, and directing a comprehensive and integrated technical soil services programs for the state
  • Serves as a state liaison with National Cooperative Soil Survey (NCSS) cooperators
  • Provides supervision to members of the State Soils Program staff and/or Resource Soil Scientists

Sample NRCS Work Experience

  • Collaborates/cooperates with regional directors
  • Provides direct support to field offices for technical soil services
  • Works collaboratively with Soil Survey offices
  • Serves as the state representative of the National Cooperative Soil Survey
  • Provides soil expertise to other federal agencies
