Appeals

Requesters have the right to appeal initial FOIA decisions, which are adverse in nature, within 45 days of the date of the final response.  Adverse decisions are no-records responses, partial releases, full denials, or denials of fee-waivers or expedited processing.  When mailing an appeal, ensure to include the initial response, along with the appeal letter and envelope clearly marked “Freedom of Information Act Appeal.”
