Subject: CPA - Maine Policy for Conservation Planning and Environmental Compliance for all conservation planning activities

Purpose. To notify the field of an update to the ME-CPA-52 form.

Expiration Date. September 30, 2011

National Bulletin 190-10-18, instructed states to review and use the final national Environmental Evaluation (EE) CPA-52 form. Specifically, the national CPA-52 form has been changed to allow the field to provide additional rationale and explanation of environmental effects. The form has consolidated the special environmental concerns into one section that documents how environmental laws or policies are being compiled with by NRCS. All instructions and special environmental concern guide sheets have been revised and updated to reflect current policy.

All new conservation plans are to use the ME-CPA-52_FY11.pdf version. Please save the completed worksheets as (Client name_ME-CPA-52_FY11.pdf) in the “Determination” folder in Customer Service Toolkit for future reference.

A net meeting covering the revised CPA-52 form will be conducted on October 25 and November 3, 2010. All Certified Conservation Planners and District Conservationists are required to attend. Details regarding the net meeting are attached.
