USDA-NRCS Local Working Group meetings scheduled for Maine

(PDF version)

BANGOR, Maine (December 8, 2020) – A series of public meetings that will assist the USDA in implementing conservation programs and practices in Maine have been scheduled for Fiscal Year 2021.

The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Local Working Groups are held in each county in Maine with the county’s Soil and Water Conservation District.

The meetings provide information, analysis and recommendations to NRCS officials charged with implementing the conservation provisions under the Farm Bill. Each meeting will help determine conservation practices and priorities for the following fiscal year. The recommendations will then be provided to the State Technical Committee later in 2021, and then to the State Conservationist for final implementation.
