USDA Local Working Group to discuss Hancock County natural resource priorities

BANGOR (Oct. 3, 2018) -- There will be a meeting of the USDA Local Working Group on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at 5 p.m. at the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Field Office, 474 Bucksport Rd., in Ellsworth.

The public meeting is planned as part of a joint effort by the USDA and the Hancock County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to engage more participants in the conservation process in Hancock County.

Local Working Groups provide input to the District Conservationist of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) on local natural resource priorities and criteria for conservation activities and programs. Topics of discussion will include prioritizing resource concerns for Hancock County for Fiscal Year 2020.
