USDA Funding opportunity available for Native American Tribes

BANGOR, Maine (July 1, 2018) – The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), an agency under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), is announcing availability of a $50,000 contribution agreement (USDA-NRCS-ME-18-03) to assist a Federally recognized Native American Tribal government in Maine with the implementation of forestry conservation practices on tribal forest land. Personnel working under this agreement will provide technical assistance within forest lands owned by Tribal governments in Maine.

he technical assistance provided will be to develop or revise Forest Management Plans, complete forest and wildlife inventories, and identify opportunities to conserve and improve terrestrial and aquatic wildlife habitat in concurrence with Tribal timber harvest activities.

The funding floor for this announcement is $25,000, and the funding ceiling is $50,000.

Applicants and applications must meet eligibility criteria by the application deadline to be considered for award. The deadline for submission is July 17, 2018.
