Sign Up Now for 2019 NRCS Conservation Programs

Annapolis, Md., October 10, 2018 — Maryland farmers and forest landowners can now apply for assistance to protect the health and productivity of their land through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service offers technical and financial assistance to plan and install conservation practices on cropland, pastureland, and non-industrial private forestland. NRCS accepts applications year-round but makes funding selections at specific times. Maryland has established November 16, 2018 as the first ranking period deadline for national programmatic and landscape initiatives, and EQIP applications for Regional Conservation Partnership Program projects.

While NRCS will continue to accept general EQIP applications, the first ranking period activities will be limited to 16 focal areas, including air quality, energy, organic, wildlife, Conservation Activity Plans, and eight EQIP-focused projects funded through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program. Visit www.md.nrcs.usda.gov for a complete list of eligible activities.

Call or visit your local NRCS office to learn more about USDA program eligibility requirements and how EQIP and other Farm Bill programs can help you better protect and manage natural resources on your land. Visit farmers.gov for USDA service center locations. General program information is available on the NRCS Maryland website at www.md.nrcs.usda.gov.
