Twin Valley RC&D

Twin Valley Resource Conservation & Development Council, Inc

Twin Valley RC&D, officially authorized in 1969 and incorporated in 1988, serves eight parishes in northwest and central Louisiana. The mission of Twin Valley RC&D is to help people work together at the local level to take advantage of the sources of technical and financial assistance available to improve their standard of living and to make their communities better places to live. Twin Valley RC&D efforts include:

    • Installed 886 rural dry hydrants statewide to improve fire rating for rural homeowners

    • El Camino East/West Corridor Economic Development and Tourism Project Phases I and II
    • WUI/Firewise Community Assessments
    • Livestock Tour 1999 – Present
    • Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Statewide Project

    • Rosepine Elementary School Walking Track and Landscaping

    • Developed Forestry in Louisiana DVD and teaching manual for middle schools statewide
