The Acadiana RC&D is a non profit organization that addresses the social, environmental, and economic concerns of south central Louisiana. Its primary focus is conservation, development, and utilization of natural resources. The Acadiana RC&D Council has sponsored numerous projects and efforts including:

  • Louisiana Native Plant Initiative
  • Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Grant Writing Assistance
  • Southwest LA Grassland Restoration Initiative
  • Coulee Baton Micro Watershed Rural Sewer System Improvement Project
  • Wetland Plant Identification Course
  • No Till Grass Drill Rental Program
  • Sustainable Energy and Efficiency Demonstration
  • Sustainable Grazing and Wildlife Habitat Workshops
  • Co-host the Canon Envirothon Competition
  • Fire Wise – Awareness and Education for Volunteer Fire Departments
  • FFA career development events including Agronomy, Public Speaking and Land Judging.
  • Conference and Workshop Facilitation
  • Rural Community Park and Recreation Improvement
