The AA/PI Manager advises the state conservationist, serves on the NRCS Louisiana Civil Rights Advisory Committee, and conducts a special emphasis program which:

  • Promotes fair and equitable treatment to the Asian American/Pacific Island (AA/PI) employees in our workforce;

  • Assists in ensuring that the general population of Asian American and Pacific Islanders are informed of our services and programs.

  • Assists in recruiting qualified Asian American and Pacific Island people into our agency.

Every May, Asian American/Pacific Islander (AA/PI) Heritage Month is observed throughout America.  The national theme for AA/PI History Month 2013 is “Building Leadership:  Embrace the Cultural Values and Inclusion.”        
Congratulations to Jonathan Bakken, Wetland Specialist, Thief River Falls, MN, who has been awarded first place for his 2013 AA/PI Heritage Month poster entry.
