Alison Godman, Soil Conservationist

Alison GodmanAlison grew up in Falmouth, Kentucky on her family's farm. Agriculture was always her passion so she knew what she would study in college.  She graduated from Morehead State University in May of 2012 with a degree in Agricultural Science (with emphasis in Agribusiness).

While still in school, Alison worked for NRCS as a summer intern in the Maysville field office.  The agency gave her the opportunity to continue as a career intern so she finished her final semester of college while working in the Flemingsburg field office. Upon graduation, NRCS hired Alison as a soil conservationist in the Columbia field office.  She provides assistance to Adair and Russell counties but is also available to the other five counties within the work unit.

Alison is one of the agency's newest employees so she has a long career ahead of her.  Every day she tries to learn more about the agency and explore new opportunities.  Alison welcomed a new opportunity recently as she became the Area 2 NRCS Representative on the Kentucky NRCS Civil Rights Advisory Committee.

A true farm girl, Alison still enjoys working on the farm, cooking and fishing, but she is also enjoying the daily interaction with farmers that each day on the job brings.  From making farm visits to assisting farmers in the office, she "enjoys helping farmers improve their operations."
