Ripairian BufferThe Natural Resources Conservation Service promotes forestry by providing technical assistance to private landowners with assistance from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry to:

  •  Manage existing forestlands in an ecological manner for timber products.
  • Plant trees and shrubs for erosion control and wildlife habitat improvement.
  • Plant trees as Riparian Forest Buffers to improve water quality.
  • Plant trees for windbreaks to reduce wind erosion and conserve energy.
  • Providing cost share payments for tree planting with the EQIP program.
  • Provide cost share payments for forest improvements and tree planting with the FIP program.
