SUBJECT:  National Engineering Handbook Part 645, Engineering Technical Materials

Purpose:  To distribute revised and new IL-ENG standard drawings

Expiration Date:  Upon receipt.

Explanation: Notice 51 distributes 16 revised and 14 new standard engineering drawings. Major highlights include:

  • Sizing for the anti-vortex baffle on a pipe riser, and a trash rack to accommodate the baffle.
  • A circular concrete manure tank, based on MWPS TR-9.
  • Water well drawing updated to match revised practice standard 642.
  • Checkout documentation for well installation.
  • A double row compost bin with pole barn style roof.
  • Updates to pipe structure materials lists.

A summary of all updates is included on the attached distribution list.

The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be revised to reflect the updated drawings:

Filing Instructions:

All holders of Illinois Engineering Drawing binders should:

  1. Replace Numerical Index dated 11/2010 with the new Numerical Index (attached), dated 1/2011.
  2. Replace Category Index dated 11/2010 with the new Category Index (attached), dated 1/2011.
  3. Print copies of the new and revised drawings, available on the website. Follow instructions on attached distribution listing of new drawings, filing in IL-ENG Drawing binder.
