SUBJECT:  National Engineering Handbook Part 645, Engineering Technical Materials

Purpose:  To distribute revised and new IL-ENG drawings for livestock winter feeding stations

Expiration Date:  Upon receipt.

Explanation: This notice distributes 11 revised and 165 new standard engineering drawings for livestock winter feeding stations. New features include:

  • 10 different sizes of winter feeding station structure, from 30 animal units up to 100 animal units, in increments of 10 (previous sizes were 30 and 60).
  • different designs of feeding area: the traditional concrete wall style, and a new design with roll curbs in the feeding area in place of the concrete walls.
  • A summary of all updates is included on the attached distribution list.

The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be revised to reflect the updated drawings: Copies of IL-ENG-190 and IL-ENG-220 are included as attachments to this distribution. The remaining sets of drawings may be downloaded from the website as needed.

Filing Instructions:

All holders of Illinois Engineering Drawing binders should:

Replace Numerical Index dated 5/1/2009 with the new Numerical Index (attached), dated 6/1/2009.
Replace Category Index dated 5/1/2009 with the new Category Index (attached), dated 6/1/2009.
Follow instructions on attached distribution listing of new drawings, filing in IL-ENG Drawing binder.
