Application deadline for financial assistance Dec. 21

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Nov. 14, 2018 — Agricultural producers within the Apalachicola and Ochlockonee River watersheds can apply until Dec. 21 for financial and technical assistance from USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) for fiscal year 2019 funding.

This sign up is through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). Through the program, NRCS, the Flint River Soil and Water Conservation District and partners help producers install conservation activities in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint and Ochlockonee River Basins.

Producers and landowners may receive financial and technical assistance to improve soil, water, air, plants, animals and related resources. Eligible land includes cropland, rangeland, pastureland, private non-industrial forestland and other farm or ranch lands. Farmers, ranchers and forest land owners in the following counties are eligible to apply: Jackson, Calhoun, Bay, Washington, Liberty, Gadsden, Wakulla, Leon and Jefferson.

Begin by visiting your local NRCS field office and requesting help developing a conservation plan.
