Dale County 2016 EQIP Program
Executive Summary
The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Dale County, Alabama, will hold a sign-up for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) for the 2016 fiscal year. This signup will be held on a continuous basis. Any eligible landowner who has a resource concern or problem on cropland, pastureland, hayland or forestland may apply for assistance through this program.

The USDA Work Group has identified the resource concerns, by priority, in Dale County as:
- Erosion/Soil Quality
County funds will be devoted to Erosion/Soil Quality concerns with an emphasis on addressing classic erosion such as gullies. All applications addressing gully erosion will receive a high priority. All other Erosion/Soil Quality applications will receive a low priority.
Dale County will use the Alabama NRCS state approved EQIP Practice and Payment Schedule. The following practices will be eligible under the Erosion/Soil Quality resource concern: (342) Critical Area Planting, (350) Sediment Basin, (362) Diversion, (410) Grade Stabilization Structure, (412) Grassed Waterway, (466) Land Smoothing, (468) Lined Waterway or Outlet, (472) Access Control, (484) Mulching, (558) Roof Run-Off Structure, (561) Heavy Use Area Protection, (600) Terrace, (620) Underground Outlet, and (638) Water and Sediment Control Basin, (340) Cover Crop, (345) Residue and Tillage Management – Mulch Till, and (328) Sod Base Rotation (328).
Limited Resource Farmers, New and Beginning Farmers, and Socially Disadvantaged Farmers will be paid at an increased payment rate.
