Approximately $70,000 Available for Rhode Island State Conservation Innovation Grants
WARWICK, RI (May 2, 2013) -- The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service of Rhode Island (USDA NRCS) is accepting applications for Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies. Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded through a competitive grants process with up to $70,000 to be awarded statewide.
For FY 2013, Rhode Island NRCS will consider pre-proposals that demonstrate the use of innovative technologies and/or approaches to address one of the five Rhode Island CIG categories: Program Outreach; Energy Conservation; Soil Health; Wildlife; and CIG Projects Assessment. Applications are requested from eligible government or non-government organizations or individuals for competitive consideration of grant awards for projects between one and three years in duration. Applications will only be considered for projects in Rhode Island.
Applications for the pre-proposals must be received in the NRCS Office in Warwick, RI by close of business on May 24, 2013.
