NRCS Announces State Technical Committee Meeting Schedule for 2014
The January 15 meeting has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
Annapolis, Md., December 20, 2013- Jon Hall, Maryland State Conservationist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), today announced that NRCS will hold a meeting of the Maryland State Technical Committee on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, from 9:00 am - Noon. The meeting will be held at the Maryland NRCS State Office, 339 Busch’s Frontage Rd, Suite 205 in Annapolis.
The State Technical Committee is meeting to discuss fiscal year 2014 conservation programs, budget allocations for NRCS Maryland, the contributions of Sub-Committees to the State Technical Committee and the Conservation Effects Assessment Project update.
The Maryland State Technical Committee, an advisory group, provides recommendations for establishing technical guidelines and program criteria and priorities necessary to carry out conservation provisions of the Farm Bill.The committee includes members from a wide variety of natural resource and agricultural interests. Chaired by the Maryland NRCS State Conservationist, the Committee is composed of representatives from Federal and State natural resource agencies, agricultural and environmental organizations, and agricultural producers.
The Committee meets regularly to provide information, analysis, and recommendations to NRCS management staff. The public is invited to attend the meeting.
The State Technical Committee will also meet April 16, July 16, and October 15, 2014. All meetings begin at 9:00 am and will be held at the Maryland State Office.
