Arizona 2009 NRCS Noxious and Invasive Species List
The following list of noxious and invasive species is approved for treatment using NRCS financial assistance programs during fiscal year 2009. Species not on this list are not eligible for financial assistance.
Woody species may be treated on all land uses. Herbaceous species may only be treated on non-cropland. On cropland, NRCS can provide financial assistance for conservation practices such as conservation crop rotations, residue management, and other practices that are part of an integrated pest management plan to control weeds. By NRCS national policy, direct control of weeds using pest management is not permitted on cropland.
On all land uses, an integrated pest management plan must be developed for control of herbaceous species, and must be approved by an NRCS certified pest planner. A brush management plan must be developed for treating woody species.
Native Woody Species
The following list of native species may be controlled using Brush Management when a resource inventory documents a significant increase of these woody species above what is expected on the ecological site, and Brush Management will be used to help reduce the woody species to the levels expected on the ecological site.
