Opportunity to provide input on voluntary, private-lands conservation programs
PALMER, Alaska – (December 15, 2020) – Private landowners, conservation groups, government agencies, Tribal entities and other stakeholders are invited to provide input and recommendations to the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) at the next State Technical Advisory Committee (STAC) meeting, Thursday January 21 from 9 a.m. to noon.
For the safety and health of all participants, this session will be held virtually. A video meeting link and audio teleconference information will be provided to all STAC members who are currently on the NRCS partners email list before the meeting.
Partners may sign up to receive email notifications about upcoming STAC meetings by subscribing to the “Partner Updates” topic on the NRCS Alaska Gov Delivery email list serve. About STAC
The STAC provides recommendations for establishing technical guidelines and program criteria and priorities necessary to carry out conservation provisions of the Farm Bill. Although the State Technical Advisory Committee has no implementation or enforcement authority, USDA considers the Committee's recommendations. The NRCS State Conservationist chairs the committee and its members are composed of individuals and groups who represent a variety of natural resource sciences and occupations including, soil, water, air, plants, wetlands, and wildlife.
