Outreach is defined as efforts and activities conducted to ensure that all customers throughout the United States and its territories are made aware of, understand, and have a working knowledge of NRCS programs and services.
Outreach will ensure that participation in and benefits of these programs and services are available to all customers, including the underserved.
North Dakota NRCS has been and will continue to be supportive of outreach activities in the State to ensure participation in NRCS assisted programs.
Examples of outreach:
- Full time resource conservationists work with Tribes within North Dakota and Tribal land users to assist with protecting and conserving their lands.
- Through partnerships with local soil conservation districts, many counties host "Women Ag Day/Nights" with agenda topics targeted toward women agricultural producers.
- NRCS teams with other USDA organizations to host Beginning Farmer and Rancher Seminars on programs to assist with their operation.
- Counties work with extension services and local producers to host shop talks or field tours on Conservation Topics.
- NRCS conservation staff mentor interns and speak to high school and college classrooms on conservation career opportunities.
