WASHINGTON, Jan. 30, 2023 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) encourages urban producers, innovative producers and other stakeholders to virtually attend the fourth public meeting of the Federal Advisory Committee for Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production (Committee) on Feb. 23, 2023.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 26, 2023 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is making available up to $7.5 million for grants through its Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production (OUAIP).
Project Cheyenne River – Wasta Area will soon be underway in Pennington and Meade Counties in SD, serving the community and improving land quality.
Project is entering its third year in northeastern Minnehaha County, serving Sioux Falls and the surrounding community working to improve land quality.
The purpose of this project is to implement grazing strategies to promote plant diversity and root growth to ensure grassland stability in the targeted area and will be implemented by the NRCS in collaboration with farmers, ranchers, and landowners within the project area.
This three-year project will reduce the amount of water lost in the St. Germain irrigation ditch and will be carried out by the Pennington Conservation District in concert with landowners and operators within the project area.
