Upper Ohio Conservation District local work group meeting scheduled, May 1

The Upper Ohio Conservation District in cooperation with USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will hold a local work group meeting to gather input from farmers, state and federal agencies, agriculture and conservation organizations regarding natural resource conservation priorities.

The Upper Ohio Conservation District in cooperation with USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will hold a local work group meeting to gather input from farmers, state and federal agencies, agriculture and conservation organizations regarding natural resource conservation priorities. The meeting will be held Thursday, May 1 at 6:00 p.m. at the Sistersville Church of Christ, 219 Oxford Street, Sistersville, WV 26175.
The local work group includes representatives from cooperating federal, state, and local conservation organizations and is open to all farmers, agricultural producers, and forest owners/managers. As part of NRCS’s locally led process of administering programs, public comments will be sought from attendees on how to best prioritize USDA dollars for your local area.
The Upper Ohio Conservation District covers Pleasants, Tyler, and Wetzel Counties. NRCS District Conservationist, Nick Beaver and his staff work from the NRCS field office in Middlebourne to cover these counties.
