Join NRCS Oregon and partners for a local work group meeting.
Registration
No registration deadline. Event is free and open to the public.
Our goal is to bring together individuals with a variety of expertise and knowledge allowing NRCS and others to build on our collective successes while focusing our efforts to make the greatest impact with our available staff and funding. We need your help to:
- identify where the best investments can be made to address natural resource problems in our area,
- share the work that has already been done in the county over the last year, and
- share your vision for what the county will look like when these natural resource concerns have been solved.
Current NRCS funding strategies include:
- Local Foods and Food Systems Resilience Initiative
- Siuslaw Floodplain Reconnection Initiative
- Forest Resistance & Resilience Initiative
- Forest Management Planning
- High Tunnel and Organic Initiatives
- Inflation Reduction Act - Climate Smart Agriculture and Forestry practices
- Conservation Stewardship Program
- Wetland Reserve Easement Program
Potential future funding strategies/ideas include:
- Native Olympia oyster restoration
NRCS will be using the information you provide to update the Long-Range Strategy for the Waldport Field Office’s service area on the Mid Coast. Your input in this process is very valuable as we will use it to help guide our conservation efforts and funding over the next five to ten years.
Please email any agenda items that you’d like to see included. If you are unable to attend this meeting but would like to provide your input, please contact Annie Marion, NRCS District Conservationist, at 541-563-5627 or anna.marion@usda.gov.
The meeting will also be recorded and posted to the NRCS website along with meeting notes for those who are unable to attend. This meeting is open to the public, so please feel free to share this information with others who may be interested in participating. Please contact Annie for any accommodations.
