Join NRCS Chief Aubrey J.D. Bettencourt as she “Dishes the Dirt” on how the agency has partnered with Alabama Soil and Water Conservation Committee (ALSWCC) and the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service (ACES) to help address unpredictable weather patterns in the state.
Only 7% of the state’s harvested cropland is irrigated and NRCS and its partners are utilizing PF-566 Watershed funding to convert rain-fed farmland to irrigated farmland by encouraging the adoption of water-saving irrigation systems and techniques such as drip, micro or center pivot irrigation.
