Maryland State Technical Committee

The Maryland NRCS State Technical Committee provides information, analysis and recommendations on a wide variety of policy issues to NRCS.

The Maryland State Technical Committee is composed of individuals and groups who represent a diverse group with interests in a variety of natural resource sciences and occupations, including the following:

  • Soil
  • Water
  • Air
  • Plants
  • Wetlands
  • Wildlife
  • Agricultural Community
  • Environmental Community

Maryland STC meetings are held twice a year at the Maryland NRCS State Office located at 339 Busch's Frontage Road, Suite 205, Annapolis, Maryland 21409. Meetings are open to the public.

State Technical Committee meetings are conducted as an open discussion among members. Individuals participating in the meetings have the opportunity to address the committee and present their opinions and recommendations. The State Conservationist may assemble certain members into subcommittees to discuss, examine, and focus on a particular technical or programmatic topic. The subcommittees will report back during a State Technical Committee meeting. Although State Technical Committees have no implementation or enforcement authority, NRCS gives strong consideration to the Committee's recommendations.
