Swan Creek Watershed

After initial public engagement and discussion on the planning efforts, the Cass County Water Resource District and the project team elected not to proceed with further design and evaluation.

The watershed plan included efforts to implement flood damage reduction measures within the Swan Creek watershed associated with spring snow melt and rains in order to minimize erosion, crop losses, damage to transportation systems and other public infrastructure, homes, and businesses.  Efforts to implement natural resource enhancements were also explored.

Although a number of viable alternatives were initially evaluated for feasibility, no preferred alternative was selected prior to terminating the planning efforts. 

Current Status

In May of 2019, NRCS agreed with the decision of the Cass County Joint Water Resource District to terminate this agreement.
