Meet Earth Team Volunteer Hannah

Hannah Pannell

High school senior Hannah Pannell is from Fulton, IL. She has been serving as an NRCS Earth Team volunteer for the NRCS Field Office

located in Morrison, Illinois. Hannah has been volunteering and helping the Whiteside County Team on a regular basis since August 2015, her entire senior year.

“My main task at the office has been organizing and pulling together plans and folders for producers who are signed up for the Conservation Reserve Program. We just call it ‘CRP’ for short,” says Hannah.

NRCS District Conservationist Mark Kaiser says Hannah has been a big help and has made a noticeable dent in the work. “She also helps out by phoning CRP producers and asking them to come in and pick up their plans. Or she mails them out, if need be,” Kaiser explains.

Hannah also helps the office team by filing folders, mailing out letters and other correspondence, and has even helped provide technical staff who go out to perform field surveys. Hannah begins attending college in the fall at University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in Stevens Point WI. Kaiser and the team hopes she will continue her help there through August—and beyond—if her busy schedule permits! Thanks for all you do, Hannah!
