USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that the USDA is accepting public comments on its interim final rule for the new Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), designed to help producers protect working agricultural lands and wetlands.
NRCS Chief Jason Weller announced that USDA is offering a renewal option through Tuesday, March 31, 2015, for eligible producers with expiring CSP contracts. USDA will also extend the deadline for general sign-up CSP applications until Friday, March 13, 2015.
The Louisiana Master Farmer program will offer a two-day workshop – called Master Farmer University – beginning January 16 at the West Monroe Convention Center and concluding with a farm tour on January 17. Please read attached flyer.
