Through the Migratory Bird Habitat Initiative (MBHI), NRCS will work with farmers, ranchers and other landowners to manage portions of their land to enhance habitat for migrating birds. MBHI projects will benefit wildlife, landowners, and the environment for years to come.
An Agricultural Energy Management Plan (AgEMP), commonly called an “on-farm energy audit,” ensures that both production and natural resource protection goals are achieved. An AgEMP will contain recommended measures to maximize energy conservation and efficiency.
Three parishes in Louisiana have been targeted as high-priority focal areas for Gopher Tortoise Habitat Restoration: Tangipahoa, Washington, and St. Tammany. St. Helena has also been included as medium-priority focal area.
