USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is celebrating National Volunteer Week April 12-18 by thanking and honoring its Earth Team volunteers for their service to conservation.
Targeted conservation work in the Mississippi River basin will unite the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), farmers and local organizations to help clean waterways that flow into the nation’s largest river. Arkansas has 3 new and 6 existing projects.
The USDA is making available $332 million in financial and technical assistance to protect and restore agricultural working lands, grasslands and wetlands.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack recently announced that 100 high-impact projects across all 50 states, including Arkansas, will receive more than $370 million as part of the new Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).
