Renewal Option for Expiring CSP Contracts, Deadline Extended for General Sign-Up

NRCS Chief Jason Weller announced USDA is offering a renewal option through March 31, 2015, for eligible agricultural producers and forest landowners with expiring Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) contracts. USDA also extended the general sign-up deadline to March 13, 2015.

NRCS Announces Sign-up for Illinois River/Eucha-Spavinaw Lake Watershed

Farmers and landowners in Benton and Washington counties in Arkansas have until March 20, 2015, to submit applications to receive financial assistance to implement conservation practices through the Illinois River Sub-Basin and Eucha-Spavinaw Lake Watershed Initiative.

StrikeForce Jobs Study Report shows between $365-$501 million invested in AR

USDA, through their StrikeForce Initiative program, has invested between $365 million and $501 million each year from FY2011 to FY2013 in the 25 StrikeForce counties in Arkansas.  This investment has resulted in a substantial impact on the Arkansas economy. 

USDA Selects First Projects of New Regional Conservation Partnership Program

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack recently announced that 100 high-impact projects across all 50 states, including Arkansas, will receive more than $370 million as part of the new Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).
