USDA recently announced the availability of $15 million to help eligible conservation partners leverage local investments for wetland protection and improvements on private and Tribal agricultural lands nationwide.
Applications for national CIG projects are due by May 10, 2016. More information is available on the national NRCS CIG website.
USDA-NRCS has announced $10.6 million in funding available to aid forest managers working to restore longleaf ecosystems on private lands in nine states. Alabama will receive $2.6 million in funding.
Mr. J.B. Turner of Harvest, Alabama has been named the Alabama Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) 2016 Small Farmer of the Year. An award plaque and an engraved clock were presented to Mr. Turner at the Federation of Southern Cooperative’s 48th Annual Meeting in Epes, AL.
