On Saturday July 11, 2015, the Kansas Rural Center will sponsor an all day women-only workshop and farm tour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Emporia, Kansas, at the Flint Hills Technical College. This is the fourth in a series of educational workshops for women farmers or want-to-be farmers, women landowners, and women interested in sustainable farming and food production.
No-till on the Plains is holding another of our Whirlwind Expos in Kansas. On July 21 we hold the field day at Jacob Farms near Sedgwick, Kansas. Attendees will hear from industry experts, researchers, and no-till producers about the benefits of long-term, continuous no-till systems. Topics that will be covered include a discussion on Greenseeker technology for corn, using sorghum in a no-till rotation and make use of cover crops for weed control and grazing.
