Three-day course prepares landowners and natural resource professionals how to manage longleaf pine forests. Topics covered: history of longleaf pine, fire in longleaf ecosystems, restoration, stand management, wildlife management, cost-share opportunities, understory restoration, diseases and insect identification, economics/products/resources and materials.

Tour features stages of longleaf pine forest restoration, steephead ravines and unique plant community. Owners have traced the history of the property back to 1926 near the end of the turpentine era. Unique plants in bloom include mountain laurel, Florida anise.
