The Caribbean Area NRCS Soil Science Division will join the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez Campus World Soil Day celebration in hosting a distinguished NRCS Soil Scientist lecture for students, professors, farmers and agriculture-related professionals.
Maxine Levin, USDA-NRCS National Leader for Soil Interpretations, will be the guest speaker, joining other Caribbean Area NRCS staff, including Director, Edwin Almodóvar, Soil Science Division staff and Mayagüez Field Office employees.
The lecture will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time (AST).

The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) Caribbean Green Technology Center and the University of the West Indies (UWI) Climate studies group will be hosting a public lecture on climate change entitled "Climate Matters" at the UVI-St. Thomas Administration and Conference Center (ACC) on January 12, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. On January 13, they will have a hands-on workshop to demonstrate the effects of climate change in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
