Soil Survey and Resource Assessment
The North Dakota Soils Team is part of the National Cooperative Soil Survey, an effort of Federal and State agencies, universities, and professional societies to deliver scientifically based soil information. The North Dakota Soil Program includes the State Soil staff who provide soil survey products and technical assistance to local agency and conservation district field offices, other agencies, and landowners and the Northern Great Plains Major Land Resource Area Office Region 7 (MO-7) provides quality assurance and technical guidance to a six-state area.
The North Dakota Soils Program provides quality soil survey information necessary for understanding, managing, conserving, and sustaining the nation's limited soil resources. MO-7
The Northern Great Plains MLRA Office (MO-7), located in Bismarck, North Dakota, provides quality assurance, technical guidance and support, and technology transfer to National Cooperative Soil Survey offices for the western portion of Minnesota, eastern and central Montana, North Dakota, western and central South Dakota, northeastern Wyoming, and northwestern Nebraska. This office is one of 18 MLRA offices serving the National Cooperative Soil Survey in the United States.
