Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative

The Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative (CCPI) is a voluntary conservation initiative that enables the use of certain conservation programs along with resource of eligible partners to provide financial and technical assistance to owners and operators of agricultural and nonindustrial private forest lands.

After announcement, eligible producers located in an approved project area may submit an application for any of the following available programs, which may be approved for assistance:

Under CCPI, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) enters into partnership agreements with eligible entities that want to enhance conservation outcomes on agricultural and nonindustrial private forest lands. The Secretary of Agriculture has delegated the authority for CCPI to the NRCS Chief.

2013 CCPI Information

Forestry for the Bay- Applications Due June 14.

For fiscal year 2013, NRCS is partnering with the Maryland Forest Service and the Pinchot Institute to help private landowners improve the health and productivity of their forestland through the Forestry for the Bay program.  

The Forestry for the Bay partnership provides increased financial assistance for Maryland landowners to implement forest-related practices that improve air and water quality and pollinator habitat. Participants with land in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed will be eligible to receive a free assessment of their potential to generate ecosystem service credit funding.

The program is run through EQIP and EQIP eligibility requirements apply. Financial assistance is being made available through EQIP-CCPI and Maryland’s Woodland Incentives Program. Forestry for the Bay is available in all Maryland counties.
