An Earth Day Celebration

On Friday, April 19th, NRCS led a celebration of Earth Day at the James M. Hanley Federal Building in Syracuse, New York. The celebration focused on NRCS New York’s commitment to soil health, with State Conservationist Don Pettit and other technical staff available to answer questions. Staff also led an annual spring cleanup of the USDA Community Pollinator Garden onsite, while young children learned about the importance of healthy soil through hands-on experiments with soil and water, as well as soil-centered books, games, and crafts.
