WIN-PST 3.1 Software

WIN-PST 3.1.2 is CCE Certified! Patch Released 4-29-11

New features of WIN-PST 3.1.2 include:

  • Now works with Windows 7 including 64 bit versions.
  • Bee Toxicity has been added to the toxicity viewer.
  • Automatic checking of the WIN-PST home page to determine if a pesticide data update is available.
  • Improved scenario naming functionality.
  • Improved software error logging.

Fixes in WIN-PST 3.1.2 include:

  • Button/screen text no longer truncated on certain screens.
  • Fatal report errors have been minimized.
  • Grids in the toxicity viewer now refresh properly.
  • Improved algorithm for creation of kFactors for organic layers.
  • Rainfall radio button on Site Conditions tab in the WIN-PST Options window now works.
  • A correction in the Exposure Adjusted Toxicity (EAT) Sediment Toxicity Value (STV) rating algorithm will result in a small subset of pesticides having higher Adsorbed Fish Hazard ratings.

Download and Installation of WIN-PST 3.1:


Note: Version 3.1.2 is a patch to the current installed version 3.1.13. You must have version 3.1.13 installed before you can install this patch.

For NRCS:

For NRCS users that already have version 3.1.13, as of 4-29-11, WIN-PST will automatically updated to version 3.1.2.  Submit a magic ticket to request WIN-PST 3.1.2 installation if it is not already installed.

For people outside of NRCS:

Instructions for Installing WIN-PST 3.1.2:
WIN-PST 3.1 must be installed by an “administrator” on XP.

If you have already installed WIN-PST version 3.1.13, download the patch
WIN-PST 3.1.2 patch.

Save the patch to a folder or your desktop and double click on the patch. This will start the install.  If you have not installed WIN-PST version 3.1.13 yet:

Install WIN-PST 3.1.13 first. Note:
If you are running Windows 7 64, WIN-PST 3.1.13 will not run but is necessary to complete the 3.1.2 patch installation.  After version 3.1.13 is installed, download and install the WIN-PST 3.1.2 patch using the instructions above.


WIN-PST 3.1 Soils

WIN-PST 3.1 takes soils directly from the SSURGO soils database (SSURGO Version 2.1 format)

 

Within NRCS:

The SSURGO database is either found in Section II of the Field Office Guide or on the 'F:' or 'G:' drives (e.g., F:\geodata\soils). Some states have placed the SSURGO data in other places. Contact your state's soil, GIS, or ITS staff for the correct drive and folder.

 

Partners or those without access to network drives:

Users can download the soils data from the Soil Data Mart. The SSURGO database can be placed anywhere on your computer. Make sure that if you have a laptop, that you don’t put it on a remote shared drive that is not available when you are not connected to the LAN (Local Area Network.) Pesticide Data Update (Released 2-8-13)

A data update is available for WIN-PST 3.1 pesticide data. The update includes:

  • All active ingredients from past updates.
  • 13 New active ingredients.
  • Synchronization with EPA Pesticide Product Registration Database as of 1-22-13.
