Levee Breaches in Arkansas
Every levee along the Cache River appears to have been damaged -- approximately 1 breach for every mile along the waterway, upstream from the town of Grubbs, for 50 miles. Most small ditches are full of sediment. One farmer reported 3,200 of 4,200 acres were flooded and crops lost. Areas not flooded were planted in wheat, and the excess rain is expected to cut the yield in half. NRCS images.
