I began my career with NRCS in September 1987 as an agronomist (plant materials trainee) at the James E. “Bud” Smith Plant Materials Center (PMC) in Knox City, TX. I transferred to the East Texas PMC in Nacogdoches, TX in February 1989 as assistant PMC Manager. While at the East Texas PMC, I entered graduate school at Stephen F.
