Civil Rights Impact Analysis (CRIA) examine the Civil Rights implications of proposed agency actions related to management, program development and delivery, and decision-making. Performance of this analysis is directed by Departmental Regulation (DR) 4300-4, which requires agencies to identify, evaluate, and address the Civil Rights implications of policy actions before the actions are approved and implemented.
Objectives:
The objectives of the CRIA procedure are to:

Ensure compliance with Civil Rights statutes, Federal regulations, and USDA policy on discrimination.

Prevent disparate treatment and minimize adverse Civil Rights impact caused by, and that have the purpose or effect of discriminating against protected group members.

Ensure fair and equitable service to USDA/NRCS employees and beneficiaries of Federally assisted and Federally conducted programs and activities.
