EQIP Energy Initiative

Sign up until March 20, 2015.

Conservation practices contribute to energy efficiency and fuel savings.  Farmers and ranchers can cut input costs, maintain production, protect soil and water resources, reduce the nation's dependence on fossil fuels and save money by using conservation practices. Check with your local NRCS office to find out about your area's options.

Eligible applicants include individuals, legal entities, Indian Tribes or joint operations engaged in agricultural production. Producers who grow agricultural commodities on eligible land and have resource concerns that may be addressed by energy conservation may participate in the Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) On-Farm Energy Initiative.

How To Apply

Apply for the Energy Initiative through EQIP for financial assistance. The application process for conservation programs is continuous, but funding selections are typically made once a year. Sign up this year until March 20, 2015. NRCS staff will work with the program applicant to develop a conservation plan and an EQIP plan of operations. This plan becomes the basis of the EQIP contract between NRCS and the producer.
