Otero Diversion Structure

 Otero County, Colorado

This project was an EWP project located on the Arkansas River approximately 40 miles east of Pueblo, CO. and was installed in the winter of FY '2000.  It consisted of the construction of a 257 c.y. concrete diversion structure, a 57 c.y. canal structure,  and approximately 7,500 tons of rock riprap used for streambank protection.  Total cost was approximately $640,000.  This project was designed by members of the Regional Engineering Design staff that was formerly located in the NRCS Casper state office.  The team was responsible for providing assistance to Colorado and Wyoming during its existence.
