MLRA 105 Rountree Landscape Modeling Project

The Rountree Formation was first described by the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey (WGNHS). Its type location is in Grant County, WI.

NRCS soil scientists are coordinating with researchers at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and WGNHS to map the extent and thickness of the Rountree formation.  Thus far, the Onalaska MLRA Soil Survey staff have completed a backhoe investigation where samples were collected. The samples were sent to the Kellogg National Soil Survey Lab in Lincoln, NE for analysis
