Robertson SWCD Directors are Presented with the Robertson County Soil Survey Hardbound

On Monday, May 17, during the monthly meeting of the Robertson Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Board, the five directors were presented with a hard-bound Robertson County Soil Survey Manuscript. The SWCD directors are John Sanders, Chairman; Joe Stratta, Vice Chairman; Jerry Conn, Secretary; Jim Steakley and Donald Bumpurs.
Harold Hyde, retired supervising soil scientist of the survey area, and a Franklin resident, was presented the second of only two hard-bound copies of the Robertson County Soil Survey. Maurice Jurena (retired soil scientist) and Dennis Brezina, resource soil scientist in Zone 4, served as soil survey staff members during the compilation and data gathering process, were also present as the SWCD Directors and Mr. Hyde received this honor. The Robertson County survey provides soil maps, information and interpretations on the 553,747 acre survey area or 865 square miles.
