Post Oak Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) recently held its annual meeting in Centerville to celebrate the organization's achievements for 2009.
Attendees were partners, board members, sponsors, and Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) employees from a 10 county area which includes Brazos, Burleson, Freestone, Grimes, Lee, Leon, Madison, Robertson, Waller, and Washington counties.
Allen Smith, Post Oak Resource Conservation & Development coordinator, gave an overview on the status of a biogas project in Leon County which is scheduled for completion in 2010.
"We have a lot of projects in the works. Next year should see the completion of several of these projects, such as our revolving loan program which encourages the expansion and establishment of small businesses in rural communities," Smith said.
Marva Beck, secretary of the National Association of Resource Conservation & Development, spoke to attendees during the Post Oak RC&D annual meeting held recently in Centerville.
